The Hampton Police Division is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect involved in a check cashing business robbery that occurred on May 4, 2007. The investigation revealed that at approximately 3:20 p.m., in the 2400 block of W. Mercury Boulevard, an unknown suspect entered the check cashing business. The suspect robbed the business of an undisclosed amount of money and fled in an unknown direction.

- The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20’s, 5’8”-5’10” tall, 250-260 pounds with a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket, dark pants and a dark hat on his head -

Anyone with information that will assist police with identifying the person responsible for this crime is encouraged to contact the Hampton Police Division at 727-6111 or Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-UUP. Chesapeake Fire Marshals are investigating several arson cases of a house located at the intersection of Rowlock Road and Ahoy Drive. The vacant house is undergoing remodeling and has been subject to four cases of arson between June of 2006 and April of 2007.
