bank-robbery.jpgOn, Wednesday, January 24, 2007, at 4:17 p.m., a man entered the SunTrust Bank located in the 4500 block of Virginia Beach Blvd. in Virginia Beach.  He approached the teller and demanded money.  After obtaining the money, the suspect exited the bank and got into the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked in front of the building.  He left in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a white male, 45-50 years of age.  He is 5’7” tall and weighs approximately 165 pounds.  It appears that he was wearing a dark colored wig and eyeglasses during the robbery.  He was last seen wearing a green jacket over a gray hooded sweatshirt, denim pants and dark shoes.

The suspect vehicle is described as a “boxy looking,” faded blue, 1980’s model, four door sedan.

Investigators believe that the suspect is responsible for the robbery of the SunTrust Bank located in the 3300 block of Virginia Beach Blvd. and the ABNB Federal Credit Union located in the 5200 block of Providence Road.  Those robberies occurred December 12, 2006 and January 4, 2007 respectively.

This case remains under investigation by the Department’s Robbery Squad with Detective Mark Laino as the lead investigator.

Virginia Beach Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect involved in a sexual assault.

kempsville-family-skating.jpgOn Tuesday, January 23, 2007, at 9:24 p.m., a 13-year-old girl was waiting for a ride outside of the Kempsville Family Skating Center located in the 5300 block of Lila Lane.  The suspect approached the victim and asked to use her cell phone.  When she offered the phone, he grabbed her arm and pulled her to the side of the building.  As he began to sexually assault her, the suspect was scared off when a car drove by.

The suspect is described as a white male, 19-25 years of age.  He is 5’7”-5’9” tall and weighs 160-180 pounds.  At the time of the offense, the suspect was wearing a long sleeve red shirt and blue jeans with faded thighs.

Dirk Williams, 27, 6600 Blk. Stoney Point South, Norfolk,  Williams  is described as a B/M, 6’1”, 230 lbs.  Black hair and brown eyes. With gold marks covering front teeth.  Williams should be considered ARMED and DANGEROUS.  Williams is wanted for Malicious Wounding and Use of a Firearm. 

Bismark Garcia Martinez, 52, 9600 Blk. 10th Bay St.  Martinez is described as a H/M 52, Black hair, brown eyes. Martinez is wanted for Aggravated Sexual Battery and Forcible Sodomy. 

UNSOLVED ROBBERY

The Norfolk Police Department, Robbery Section is currently seeking information in reference to a robbery which occurred at the Family Dollar Store at 2591 Tidewater Dr. on 01/25/07 at approximately 7:26 P.M. The suspect is described as a B/M, 25-35 years of age, 5′10″-6′0″, wearing a white hooded jacket with black dice all over the jacket. After entering the store the suspect, forcibly took USC from the register. If you have any information on the identity of this person please call the Norfolk Police Dept. or 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.

UNSOLVED HOMICIDE

The Norfolk Police Department, Homicide Section is currently seeking information in reference to a homicide which occurred on Sunday September 24, 2006 in the 6100 Blk Alexander St.  Nicholas Alexander Delaney, 18, was shot while sitting in a 1994 bronze  Mazda.  He was taken to the hospital were he died from his wounds.  If you have any information on the identity of this person please call the Norfolk Police Dept. or 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.

The Hampton Police Division is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Alphonzo Malone Byrd, a 25-year-old man with no permanent address. The investigation revealed that on January 9, 2007, at approximately 5:15 a.m., the victim, a 51- year-old Hampton man, was approached by the suspect in a parking lot in the 2200 block of Shell Road. The suspect demanded money and when the victim turned around, he stabbed the victim in
the neck with a knife.

The suspect then ran from the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. He was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, dark jeans, red shirt and white dirty sneakers. The victim was transported to a local area hospital for treatment of injuries that do not appear to be life threatening. The suspect has been identified as Alphonzo Malone Byrd. Warrants are on file for Byrd for 1 count of Robbery, 1 count of Maiming and 1 count of Use of a Knife in Commission of a Felony. He has no permanent address but is known to frequent Granby Street in Norfolk.
