On Thursday, September 07, 2006 at 7:37 a.m., a man approached a student waiting for a bus at the intersection of Lake Edward Drive and East Hastings Arch and exposed himself to her.

The suspect is described as a black male, 35-45 years of age. He is approximately 6’ tall with a very thin build. At the time of the exposure he was wearing a white t-shirt, black baseball cap and black tennis shoes. Following the incident, the suspect was seen getting into the drivers side of a blue van that had been parked down the street with the engine running.

School officials will be sending home a letter advising parents of students attending the following schools: Bayside High School, Bayside Middle School, and Betty F. Williams and Newtown Elementary Schools.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is encouraged to call Virginia Beach Crime Solvers at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP (1-888-562-5887). Callers remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 if their information leads to an arrest.

This case remains under investigation by the Department’s Special Victims Unit with Detective David Swan as the lead investigator.
